Rick and Cindy Pierce are the co-directors of Meals and Music. They are members of St. John's United Methodist Church, have taught Sunday School there and started a college discussion group years ago at Sacred Grounds in downtown Edwardsville. Rick graduated from SIUE in 1980 -- long before the residence halls were built -- and is currently a student at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis. They have two children.

Carl Green oversees the musical programs for M&M. Carl has a bachelor's degree in political science and journalism from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston and a master's in mass communications from SIUE. Carl plays guitar and keyboards and has written many songs. He performs with the praise band at St. John's United Methodist Church in Edwardsville. He and his wife, Lois, have three children.

Donna Gardner oversees the cooking and menus for M&M. She has a food preparation license from the state of Illinois. Donna is a member of St. John's UMC. She and her husband, Scott, have three children.

Anthony Denkyirah, our faculty adviser, has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from University Cape Coast in Ghana, a master's in special education, and a doctorate in educational psychology and special education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Anthony teaches in the department of Special Education and Communication Disorders at SIUE. He is a member of the Chancery Choir at St. John's United Methodist Church in Edwardsville and co-teaches an adult Sunday school class. He and his wife, Rosina, have four children.
